Skinhead 69
I grew up in Islington, North London, and at the age of 16 became part of the developing Skinhead scene. I’m not particularly proud of the battles we had, either with other gangs of football fans, or the clashes with the Hells Angels on those Bank Holidays at Clacton, Brighton or Southend. Never the less, these things happened, and are now part of history. I’m not here to justify or glorify what happened, but to tell it as it was. The violence was just a small part of it. It was more about the fashion, the music and last but not least, the Skinhead Girls. Late 1968 to mid 1971, ‘The Best Years of my Life’. I now work as a distributor, selling Health and Beauty Products.
